The D-RING COBRA® PRO STYLE 18 kN combines two proven AUSTRIALPIN components into a high‑performance safety buckle. It merges the outstanding properties of the COBRA® PRO STYLE, the world’s leading aluminium safety buckle, with a stainless steel D‑ring that is directly integrated into the main body. The tensile strength is 18 kN at the buckle and 22 kN at the D‑ring, tested according to the ANSI standard (marked 15 kN).
The central positioning of the D‑ring prevents it from being pressed against the webbing under load, which could otherwise lead to blocking. The patented COBRA® QUICK RELEASE mechanism ensures maximum safety and easy, precise handling. When closing, the mechanism engages smoothly and the characteristic “click” confirms that the buckle is securely locked. In the closed position, the buckle remains movable, while the release mechanism is mechanically blocked by the sliding bar – accidental opening under load is therefore impossible.
As with all models in the COBRA® series, the D‑RING COBRA® can only be opened when not under load and by pressing both clips at the same time. A precisely machined recess on the back reliably channels away dirt, dust, ice and snow and thus ensures a permanently reliable mechanism, even under extreme conditions.
